Carrot Sumac Puree

Purees are PERFECT once you start introducing solids to your baby.  They’re easy to make and your baby will love them. Sumac is one my favorite Arabic Spices so this Carrot Sumac puree will help you intro

The objective of the puree recipes  is to introduce as many ingredients & flavors to your baby as early as his/her 6 months one puree at a time.

Introduce them slowly; once your baby is used to one of them then you’re ready to introduce another one.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 700 g

Age: 6 months +
Storage in Fridge: Up to 3 days
Storage in Freezer: Up to months

 

Ingredients:

  • 900 g Carrots
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sumac
  • 1 cup Water

Directions:

  1. Peel and chop carrots into small pieces.
  2. In a pan, boil water.
  3. Place carrots in a steamer basket over the water (or directly into a steamer if you have one). Cover for 10 minutes. (until carrots are tender)
  4. Once done, place carrot and sumac into a blender. Add water if you want to get the desired consistency.
